Recent Developments

            In June 2012, Fly540 was acquired by Fastjet Plc, a British investment firm, aiming to establish             a pan-African low-cost carrier network. However, Fly540's operations in Kenya were suspended             in November 2022 by the Competition Authority of Kenya.

 Qantas

This is an Australian Full Service airline, Qantas is an Acronym for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Service. It was founded on 16th November 1920. Qantas has 747 aircraft.  

SafariLink

This is a Kenyan airline based at Nairobi Wilson Airport. It operates on scheduled domestic services and also provides private charter services. It provides safari destinations within Kenya and Northern Tanzania.

Singapore Airlines

This is a flag carrier airline of Singapore founded in 1947 as Malayan Airways. It has its headquarters in Singapore. It is a member of the Star Alliance. It has a fleet of 138 flights and operates in 62 destinations worldwide.  

Travel Class

Economy class where passengers are provided with three fare options;  Lite, here the passengers can carry one check in baggage weighing up to 30kgs and 1 hand baggage with a 50% allowance of mile points. Business Class; this has two options; lite that allows the passengers to carry one check in baggage of up to 40kgs and one hand baggage with a 125% allowance of miles points. Standard where it allows the passengers to carry one check in baggage that weigh up to 40kgs and one hand baggage with 100% allowance of miles points. Flexi, where the option allows the passengers to carry one check in baggage which weighs up to 40kgs and one hand baggage with 150% allowance of miles points.

 

First class where passengers are allowed to carry one check in baggage that weighs up to 50kgs and one hand baggage with an allowance of 200% miles points. Passengers can select their preferred seat in advance. 

 

Baggage allowance

Passengers with Economy class and premium Economy travel class can carry one hand baggage of 7kgs and two check in luggage weighing up to 23kgs each. Business class and first class ticket passengers are allowed two hand baggage of 7kgs each and two check in luggage which can weight up to 32kgs.

Iberia

This is a national flag carrier of Spain and part of the IAG Group along with British Airways. Iberia is under the Oneworld airline alliance.

IndiGo

This is the largest individual Asian low cost carrier in terms of jet fleet size and passengers. It has its headquarters in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. It flies to 66 destinations both domestic and international.

Travel Class

It only offers economy class but passengers can avail their premium services such as a pre-assigned seats, multiple cancellations and priority check in with an additional cost.

Baggage allowance

IndiGo has baggage allowance of 15kgs for domestic flights and 20-30kgs for international flights. Passengers with additional baggage can pre-book IndiGo’s add on excess baggage service

JetBlue

This is headquartered in Long island City with its main base in John F Kennedy International Airport America. It flies to 102 destinations. It was founded in February 1999 under the name New Air by David Neeleman.

Travel Class

It only provides Economy class with 3 types of configuration

Blue; where the passengers travel with a carry on bag with personal items with no checked in luggage. They will enjoy  great legroom, snacks, WIFI, movies etc.

Blue Plus, this is similar to Blue fare and it allows passengers to include one checked baggage through their fare.

Blue Flex; where passengers carry 2 checked in baggage. Guests receive fast track check in and expedited security where applicable.

Mint Experience; this is available only on select Caribbean routes. It offers guests with baggage allowance, comfortable recliner seats.
